An Office Furniture Inventory Checklist Before Removal
Count what is leaving, assign a destination, and confirm building controls before pickup day.

Walk the office and count what is physically present. Floor plans and purchase records often miss moved chairs, added storage, or altered workstations. Organize the list by room and furniture type.
Inventory fields that prevent surprises
- Item type, quantity, size, and condition.
- Keep, relocate, return, donate, recycle, dispose, or hold.
- Disassembly or powered-component notes.
- Room, floor, elevator, dock, and loading access.
- Deadline and who can approve scope changes.
Separate furniture from computers, data-bearing devices, confidential records, batteries, lamps, and other controlled materials. Assign those items to the appropriate vendor or internal owner.
Confirm the building plan
Ask management about service elevators, loading docks, access badges, permitted work hours, floor protection, and insurance requirements. Coordinate old-furniture removal with new deliveries so both crews do not compete for the same route.
